I'm So Happy!! A NEVER Give Up Hope Story
by onesong inlike most everyone here, i had a painful yet liberating exiting of the org.. one of the most difficult parts was saying goodbye to a dear friend.
he couldn't believe that i no longer was a "believer", and during our last conversation 3 years ago, he ran out in tears extremely upset.
i told him that i would always love him and thought there was a good chance that that was the last time i'd ever talk to him.. however last week......he called me!!!!.

Correcting Misinformation
by minimus inif you see that something a poster states is actually inconsistent or inaccurate, will radar go off in your head to call the person on it?
i think we should be more aware, not paranoid or judgmental, but more alert to phony posters or those that try to spread inaccurate information.

Why not?
There can be no harm in getting either a clarification, affirmation, or a nullification, unless you prefer to believe your own interpretation or possible misunderstandings, which does more harm than good.

My Mum's gone
by shell69 ina few months ago i noticed that my mum had put her house up for sale, she doesn't live far from me and i had occasion to drive past her house.. well i've had a funny unsettled feeling all week, and i drove along the back of her house yesterday, and all the curtains were gone, she'd obviously left.
feeling brave i drove round the front, and yes its empty, doesnt look like she's been gone long.
i got out and went in the back garden, and looked through the windows.

I am sorry for your loss.
It is hard for me to imagine even the craziest of parents not loving their children.
I really don't think it's that she does not love you, but I know that it feels that way.
She is doing some very unloving things because her mind truly is not her own.
I'm not making excuses, but that's the only way I can come to terms with my own issues of abandonment.
Their minds are not truly their own while locked into this cult.

I know for her it is complicated
by oblivious in"my girlfriend was raised jw she was'nt allowed to use the phone, and was brought up very strict to say the least.
she has a 4 year old daughter, and recently moved back home with her family were she lives in their living room.
she can't call me and our only communication is through emails, when she can sneak to the computer.

Reflection in the Mirror ...
by compound complex inmom used to laugh when i, as a little boy, would look into the mirror and ask my reflection, "why am i so uggily?
" well, i should have felt some reassurance when auntie rose took me into her capacious arms and declared, "you're a cute little fart!".
certainly the old dear was dotty as well as biased toward me - rightly so, i would imagine.
